Get In My Belly!

What goes in...must come out

I got my usual scone for breakfast this morning but something seemed a bit off with the texture of the scone. I usually eat the edges of my scone first and work my way in the center. But as I was finishing the last center piece of the scone, I flipped it over and realized that there was parchment paper stuck to the bottom and I've been eating it with every bite of my scone! I hope I don't die.

Oh, and also...when I got home from visiting my parents, it was pretty late and I was kinda hungry so I walked in the kitchen and there was this cute little easter basket that was filled with jelly beans and other assorted easter candy. Since there was nothing else to eat, I just ate a handful of the jelly beans and some candy. The next day my roomate, Olivia, says "hey, did you see the easter basket? It was sitting in front of our doorstep when I came home Saturday night...I don't know who left it so I didn't wanna eat anything in it just in case some psycho wanted to poison us." I hope I don't die.

I'm addicted to these graham crackers at trader joe's. They're not your ordinary graham crackers though...they're "old-fashioned", thick and hearty. I know this may sound a little strange, but they taste even better when they're stale~ So after many unsuccessful attempts at trying to wait until they get stale to eat them, I've come up with an ingenious strategy. Since I have no will power nor patience to wait for them to go stale, I buy TWO tubs of the graham crackers: one to eat while the other goes stale =) However, I might have to get another tub because I'm already almost done with the first tub and it's only been a day since I bought them =P

I finally filed my taxes! (with one day to spare, whew!) can't wait to get my tax return so I can't pay off my nasty speeding ticket =P

Last night exhaustion and food coma ganged up against me and forced me to take a nap at 9pm. This wouldn't have been a problem if I had just slept for 30 min. instead of waking up at 1:30am~ When I woke up from my "nap" I felt so disoriented and panic-stricken...like that feeling you get after you've had one of those "I missed my final" nightmares (yes, I've had many of those even though I'm no longer in school). But as soon as all that subsided I fell back asleep and actually woke up late which led to another panic attack in the morning =P Now I'm kinda scared to sleep again...I don't think my heart can take another panic attack.

All work and no play makes Sarah eat chocolate all day =P

The good news: my sister got into Cal.
The bad news: my sister got into Cal.

I know it's probably a lot tougher to get into Cal than a few years ago when we got in, so i'm really proud of my sister for getting in. Yay for Carol!
HOWEVER, this will give my mom another reason to nag me..."are you taking good care of Carol? why don't you take her out to eat? can you help her do her laundry?" blah blah blah
I'm not a cold hearted older sister who won't make sure that my sister's doing alright. But hey...let's face it, she's gotta grow up some day learn how to do things for herself.

On a happier note...EASTER CANDY'S ON SALE!!!

I went home this past weekend for Easter and my mom's birthday. It was one EXPENSIVE weekend. First I got a fat ticket for speeding (damn it) but I admit that I deserved it (I was clocked at going 110...damn it).
Then I got my hair cut (which looks utterly horrible). While I was getting my hair cut, I had the following conversation on three separate occasions:

Stranger: what grade are you in?
Me: Oh, i graduated.
Stranger: Oh...so what college do you go to?
Me: I already graduated college.
Stranger: you must've graduated early
Me: (too tired to respond so I just left it at that)

And my last big purchase was getting new contacts which brings up the subject of how shady korean people are. So I go in, get my eyes checked, buy my contacts, and the last thing the guy tells me is "oh, just to let you know...we can't give you your perscription so don't ask. We'd rather have you come back here and get your contacts rather than going somewhere else." And I was like "what?" Again, I was too tired to argue so I just left it at that. But really...is that allowed?

Despite getting a ticket, getting a bad hair cut, and eating too much I realized that going home once in a while is a good thing...it reminds me why I didn't move back home to live with my family. =)
